| Inductive Coupled Power Transfer (ICPT) is a new technology of powertransmission. ICPT system breaks the traditional form of Power supply, and ICPTsystem can make electrical equipments completely isolated with power. In somespecial occasions, such as the explosive and underwater circumstances, ICPT systemcan greatly improve the security. Simultaneously, with the quickly developmentof electric vehicle industry, hybrid cars will become very popular. If we use thetraditional contact power, it will bring sparks when we charge hybrid vehicles. Forhybrid vehicles, sparks are very dangerous. In such occasions, the ICPT systemshows a lot of advantages.ICPT system is based on the theory of power electronics andElectromagnetic Induction. The main disadvantage of ICPT system is the lowefficiency, which is caused by loosely coupled transformer. In this paper, we build anICPT circuit with U-type loosely coupled transformer first. After testing the circuit, wefind the efficiency of the circuit is much lower than traditional switching powersupply. Then, we simulate the magnetic field around the U-type loosely coupledtransformer by ANSYS simulation soft. The simulation results show that the coupledcoefficient of U-type loosely coupled transformer is very low. The lower coefficientwill make the efficiency of ICPT system lower. Therefore, this paper proposes aRod-like loosely coupled transformer which has high coupled coefficient. Comparedwith U-type ICPT system, the efficiency of Rod-like ICPT system improves18%. Atthe same time, the output voltage of Rod-like loosely coupled ICPT system is morestable. Next, we build a Rod-like ICPT circuit and the efficiency of this circuit canreach95%when output power reaches1.5KW. Finally, this paper computes theefficiency of the circuit theoretically and proposes several solutions to improve theefficiency of the circuit. |
