Research On The Level Of Development Of Urban Public Transit Integration

In recent years, the rapid development of social economy and the continuousexpansion of human activities have caused a lot of traffic problems in big cities,especially the problem of traffic congestion. To solve this problem, the concept of‘public transit integration’ arises at this historic moment, and how to build a maturepublic transit integration system attracts increasing attention from the society. In orderto mitigate urban traffic congestion and improve the level of road service, many citiestake the rapid development of mass rail transit as a single measure to optimize publictransit integration system at present. However, it’s difficult for rail transit to exert thefunction of public transit integration, and we cannot only depend on the construction ofrail transit to achieve our goals. Urban public transit integration is a complex system,which consists of many interactive and coordinated subsystems. Therefore, the analysisof public transit integration’s connotation, concept, impact factors and the level ofdevelopment lays a solid foundation for the establishment of comprehensive publictransit integration system, and provides theoretical support for scientific and effectiveurban traffic policy.Firstly, this paper analyzes the connotation of urban public transit integration, andits concept is explained. Secondly, with the analysis of impact factor for urban publictransit integration’s development, the relationship of external factors and public transitintegration and public transit integration under the influence of subsystems areresearched. The elements must be considered to form a perfect public transit integrationsystem are summarized from internal and external factors. Then the developmentdirection of urban public transit integration’s strategy, planning and construction are putforward. Finally, the evaluation indexes are selected based on the influencing factors,and the evaluation model on the level of development of urban public transit integrationis established based on matter-element theory and fuzzy theory. The level ofdevelopment of Chongqing public transit integration system is used as case study, andthe development strategy of urban public transit integration is put forward referring tothe evaluation result.This paper sums up the essential elements that form perfect public transitintegration system, and selects appropriate indexes to measure public transit integration. Then the model to evaluate the level of development of public transit integration hasbeen established. This model can evaluate the development level of urban public transitintegration objectively, and provide theoretical support for urban traffic management,planning and construction. It fills in the gaps of public transit integration evaluation, andhas significance to current policy-making of public transit integration.
