Vehicle delay at signalized intersection is the most important measure of runningefficiency and server quality.It not only refiects the driver discomfort,restrain,oilconsume,time lose,but also reflects the logical of control and design.First,the different types of intersections are introduced.The delay actuality in andabroad is analyzed.In accordance with these problems,the author presents thedissertation title.Second,there are some acute analyzes about the operation characteristics of trafficflow in signal intersection.The paper describes hindered process and the reasons fordelays of vehicles in intersection.With the vehicles movement characteristics of arrivaland depart process,the deficiencies of intersection delay modies are be found.In view ofthis situation,relative measures are put forword for improvement.The approaches ofintersection was divided with the relationship between a cycle of traffic demand andtraffic supply.In the conditions,the vehicle delay model is built.The validity andpracticability of the model is verified through the instance in this paper.Finally,the short-time traffic flow forecasting model with the K-Nearest Neighboralgorithm based on the results of the delay is established.In the conditions,the signaltiming scheme is obtained.Compared with the timing control,the control scheme in thepaper is reliable.
