The tour city channel is the main backbone of road network of group urban. Withthe urban development and increasing number of motor vehicle ownership, the trafficcongestion in tour city channel is growing heavy. The main causes of traffic congestionare the channel bottleneck between groups and tour internal blocking point. The trafficimbalances of channel network seriously affect the efficiency of urban transportrunning. Channel congestion can be alleviated effectively by reasonable induction andoptimal control of traffic running between groups channel, balanced traffic flowdistribution on channel.Traffic Flow Guidance (TFG) can regulate urban transport travel distribution byroute guidance information; Urban Traffic Signal Control (TSC) can separate theconflicting traffic flow wayleave on channel intersection, and change the trafficvolume and flow direction. The combination of TSC and TFG can regulate the spatialand temporal distribution of the road network traffic from points and lines and avoidtraffic jams.This paper established three-level hierarchical method about the coordination ofTFG and TSC. Firstly, the paper analyzed the traffic generation characteristics ofchannel macroscopically, and traffic operating characteristics microscopically.Secondly, group urban road network was divided into three coordination levels whichwere “the channel network”,“channel bottleneck” and “channel node”. Thecorresponding optimization model was established. Induction of channel trafficmainstream made the overall balancing of network traffic flow at Coordination level ofthe channel network. To reduce the traffic load of the channel bottleneck, it regulatedthe imported vehicles inflow rate of channel bottleneck by integration of network layerinduction. It also established the signal control models and algorithms based ondynamic traffic assignment, which could optimize the signal control programs andvarious imported road traffic inflow rate of delegation internal channel node. Finally,the method of coordination of TFG and TSC was tested in Chongqing main city roadnetwork, and a few bottlenecks and nodes to verify that the method is reasonable andeffectiveness. This research can be used in channel traffic control and management in group city,It also can ease urban traffic congestion, and improve channel traffic operatingefficiency to a certain extent.
