Analysis Of Modern Residential Zone In Shanxi From The Perspective Of Historical Culture

With the rapid development of urbanization in our country, some cities with certain historical characteristics are in danger of being blindly developed without comprehensive assessment. Therefore, it is imminent to study these cities. Shanxi Province with its rich mineral resources is an important industrial area in the north of China.Moreover, in modern times with outstanding military factors, Taiyuan, Datong and other cities.of Shanxi all played a pivotal role to the development of modern history; therefore, the modern buildings in this area has an important position during the development of Chinese modern architectural history. The residential buildings are main areas of the human activities; therefore these kinds of buildings are the most intuitive reflection of urban construction development and the carrier of regional culture characteristics.This topic studies Shanxi Province and explores the value and significance of modern residential buildings from the historical and cultural perspectives.Through a lot of information literature collection and corresponding field surveys, this thesis takes Taiyuan as a case study and studies its modern residential buildings. With deep understanding of the development direction of residential buildings, this thesis presents problems of modern buildings and tries to offer certain research references to the future protection of urban old residential buildings.This thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the topic background, research purpose and significance, and at the same time, specifies the research objects and content.The second chapter analyzes the history and regional features of Shanxi, illustrates the reasons of certain architecture development, and also categorizes the course of the development. The third chapter takes residential building as the main object, analyzes the main reasons of its influential development factors and summarized certain construction characteristics in modern times. The fourth chapter features Taiyuan of Shanxi as a typical example, and outlines the development characteristics of modern residential buildings through analysis of different cases. The Fifth chapter illustrates the historical value of old residential buildings of Shanxi Province to the modern residential buildings, and by further analyzing the perspectives of history, art, technology, economy and emotion, this thesis concludes the survival situation of modern residential buildings, and briefly proposes measures of recycling, etc. The last chapter summarizes the whole thesis, presents the problems and the insufficiency existing in the research process, and puts forward the future development on modern residential building of Shanxi.
