Marine Navigation Radars plays important roles in ships making harbor andleaving ports. With the progress of society, people’s demand to the display resolution ofMarine Navigation Radar system is increasing higher and higher. As the existence ofhigh speed data transmission and complex data process in system, a single processorchip with build-in display controller is difficult to meet the request of a Radar systemwith a high resolution displayer. A method to solve the problem is to add a dataprocessing unit and a display control unit to the system, but it will bring other problemslike the system is much more complex which making place and route of boards muchmore difficult, and easily lead to bottleneck problem as the high speed data transmissionbetween the chips.This thesis proposes a method to archive the process unit of Marine NavigationRadar on a single chip base on SOPC technology, realizing the immediate processingand transmission of radar data and the support of high resolution display of radar image.The contents of this thesis include:1. Research on data collecting and sampling of Marine Navigation Radar. Adopt apipelined architecture and realize with hardware programmable logic, which make radardata processing higher real-time performance. Propose a method for constant falsealarm rate target detection, which have better target detection performance ininhomogeneous clutter background and in the environment of target jamming.2. Research on the interconnection of devices based on AXI4protocol. Built asystem SOPC and realized the design and insertion of user modules and interconnectionbetween the devices and processor bus.3. Research on the display control architecture of Marine Navigation Radar.Propose a feasible display control architecture, which supports image display higherthan1024*768. Propose hardware image addition, which make the drawing of radarimage smooth.4. Research on the high speed data transimission between the FPGA andmicroprocessor. Archive the high speed data transimission between the FPGA and microprocessor by using DMA in SOPC system.Through the study, achived that acquisition and processing of high-speed radar data,transplantation of Linux system and radar GUI, support of high-revolution display on asingle chip, reached purpose of realizing marine radar processing unit with a singlechip.
