Nowadays, many countries spend more and more effort to develop the clean energy. Asone kind of the clean power, nuclear power draws much more attention than ever before. Thecontrolled nuclear power can only be released in reactors, therefore, most countries aredeveloping nuclear reactor technology positively, including various forms of advancedreactors. This paper studies a kind of pressurized water reactors. The major equipment of thiskind of reactors is installed within the containment, this type of simple arrangement improvesthe inherent safety and reliability of reactors.The reactors studied in this paper are still using conventional instrumentation analogcontrol system. Compared with the extensive used digital control system, it has a distinctdisadvantage in control function, furthermore relatively poor security. In this paper, thecomputer control technology of integral reactors has been studied, considering thephenomenon mentioned above. This paper focuses on experience on the function ofpressurized water reactor protection system.Basing on analysis of the structural characteristics of this kind pressurized water reactor,and the research of object and function of reactor protection system, the function ofpressurizer, steam generator, coolant pump and other key equipment have been discussed indetail, a trigger operation of the reactor protection system shutdown logic has been developed.In this paper, the PLC was designed as the core component of the lower machine controlunit, and PC as the host computer monitoring system. The protection system shutdown logicof this pressurized water reactor was developed in the GX Developer. Data acquisitionsimulator was coded in VB. The simulator sends data to operator station and the hostcomputer monitoring system.The pressurized water reactor protection system are designed by KingView in hostcomputer monitoring system, it can realize remote monitoring, establish the link among PLCand data acquisition simulator and the host computer monitoring system, accomplished digitalmonitoring and control of this kind pressurized water reactor protection system.On the basis of realizing protection system digital monitoring and control, the technicalissue of compiling KingView and multi-platform are proposed and researched, which makes the foundation of the digitizing monitoring and control of pressurized water reactorinstrumentation and control system.
