Research On The Planning And Design Of Residential Area Based On Site Spirit

China has vast territory, rich cultural heritage. Each city has plenty of precious historical and cultural value. This kind of value also plays a certain role in guiding and promoting our residential area design. Residential area as a particular site, an important part of people’s life, except of providing people with an aesthetical feeling in form and meet people’s needs in function, it can be caused by people for their spiritual experience. At present stage, as many residential areas undergoing large and high-speed construction, in many residential area construction projects, there will not be considered in the problems such as local special natural environment, cultural background and social customs, which causes the lack of residential area characteristics, culture, human nature. The existence of these problems makes the spirit of the place of the residential area to a certain extent able to decay. People can hardly get a spiritual experience in those places.This paper trys to start from the essence of site and site spirit, made a deep analysis of residential area design strategy based on the site spirit, with a purpose of mainly discussing tresearch on the site spirit of residential area. At the base of making clear the objective of the study and meaning, content and methods, discusses the domestic and international research,we determine the framework of technical route and papers. The second part is summarized related definition and theoretical analysis of residential areas and site spirit. At the base of definition and theoretical studies, considering of China’s residential area status quo, we have an in-depth discussion and summed up the design strategy of sitewo aspects. One is how to effectively inherit and regenerate the site spirit of residential area in our planning and design, the other is to make out the project planning and design of the specific residential areas. This paper consists of three different parts:the first part discusses the problems in the planning and design of the status quo of the modern residential area such as the features missing, cultural loss and neglect of human nature. It was those exiting problems that require us to make a spirit and residential area:including four points, such as sexual reproduction of the historical context of the entity, the historical context of continuity woven, creating a residential area in the climate environment and lifestyle protection and heritage.We select the completed construction of Wuxi Jiangnan Square, Shenzhen Wanke Fifth Garden residential area for the investigation analysis.We make a deep analysis of residential area planning and design examples of site spirit and make a summary by combination of relevant research on how planning and design of residential areas, heritage and reproduce the site spirit. In the third part, we make a further exploration of the residential area planning and design case of Haanlinfu, Nantong City by combined with the previously derived design strategy, in order to apply the previously derived design strategy to practice. We extract design methods combined with the site spirit according to local natural environment, history, culture and customs, market conditions. We reflect the site spirit by overall design, partial design and type design, draw the the outcome of the planning and design.
