The fluxgate sensor has a wide range of applications in the interstellar magnetic survey, magnetic prospecting, geomagnetic observation and other areas. It has high resolution, wide measuring range and can measure the vector of the magnetic field directly.ZigBee is an emerging wireless communication technology, and has been widely used in the area of wireless sensor network with its low complexity, low cost, low power consumption,large network capacity and other advantages.The paper has introduced ZigBee into the fluxgate magnetometer system, and the system is able to measure the multiple probe points’ magnetic field at the same time. The main work of this paper as follows:Firstly, based on the system’s functional requirements, we have completed design of the system’s total architecture framework by deeply researching ZigBee technology and magnetometer development technology. The "MCU+RF chip" hardware solution has been adopted to satisfy the system’s high precision requirement.Secondly, considering the system’s high requirements for data processing capability and real-time control function, the high-performance ATmegal28L has been adopted as the main control chip for the handheld terminal. The paper has completed the the hardware and software design for the LCD control module, the keyboard module, the data storage module and the clock control module.The system uses three AT24C512chips to store the data from the three weak magnetic detectors respectively.Thirdly, the wireless module’ hardware has been marked with CC2530as the main control chip and a star ZigBee network has been built.In the network, weak magnetic detectors are responsible for measuring and sending the magnetic field data, while the handheld terminal is responsible for collecting, displaying and storing the data from the three weak magnetic detectors.Finally, we have tested the performance of the self-made magnetometer system. It has realized the purpose of measuring the3probe points’ magnetic field at the same time, and the anticipative design goal has been reached.
