According to the status of poor stability and frequent occurrence of operational failure in the ash removal system of coal-fired power plant, this article regards the ash removal SPC system of2X300MW direct air-cooled unit—which belongs to DaFanPu power plant of Inner Mongolia Guodian Energy Investment Company—as research object. According to global consideration and comprehensive analysis,three sets of the ash removal programmable system rehabilitation programs are designed after a brief introduction to the structure,operating conditions of the original ash handling control system of the power plant and occurring problems. Combined with the transformational site environment, operational requirements and other factors, the final transformation design and implementation program is determined after comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the three sets of rehabilitation programs. The final transformation program was executed and the system is put into operation.After upgrading, the ash removal programmable system becomes more stable and reliable. After the run of more than six months, there is not shutdown accident caused by the control system defects. The ash removal efficiency not only increases significantly but also the cost of power generation decreases.The system obtains good economic and social benefits. So the transformation program of the ash handling system is reasonable and feasible.
