As an effective and sanitary technology, pneumatic conveying is used more and more widely in every industry especially in power plant. This paper is based on engineering practice. The writer did some research about those most popular styles of ash removal and summarized its current problems and direction. Having a completely understanding of ash removal, including its theory, structure, technics, advantages and disadvantages, the writer finished the system design, DCS hardware selection and software configuration of the No. 7 unit (135MW X 2) of Linyi Power Plant.This ash removal system adopted positive-pressure, dense-phasre, multi-pump style.The control system uses DCS structure with PLC + Modbus plus + Computer. The CPU of PLC is Modicon 140 11303, and its configuration software is Concept2. 2. The HMI configuration is designed by Wonderware InTouch 8. 0. The system solved some usual problems such as high speed, high abrasion, big pipe, low capability, pipe jam. It has better prospect.
