With the improvement of living standards,,social progress and openness in21stcentury, people’s needs of a growing religion and its culture is increasing. As aworldview, outlook on life and lifestyle, religion is having an effect on more andmore people.As one of the three major religions, Buddhism, after originating fromIndia, differed into three types, Northern Tradition, Theravada, Tibetan. Thepurposes of this study is to solve mental and physical needs of the Vipassanameditation in the Theravada Buddhism for the landscape.In the meantime, it playsan important role in cultural heritages.And it’s a new method to interpretate theunderstanding of the original Buddhist teachings,so that it can have the referencevalue in creating a meditation environment for the religious country Myanmar whichinspires Buddhism as a universal basic education and, and for other meditationcenters in the world.Through interview research and literature organization, it is summed up that theperception of the meditators in the meditation process has become particularlysensitive. Therefor, any design on meditation environment may affect, to someextent, to the meditator’s meditation effect, and even affect the success or failure ofthe beginners’ meditation. As special expanding population, for the meditators, thetraditional landscape and architectural design, often mainly to visual experience, orlack of delicate care in the planning and design. So, the traditional design alreadycan not meet the meditation environment requirements of sensitive compositeperception of the meditator in the meditation process.Therefore, this study will re-definited and design the ideal meditationenvironment, outstand meditation environment ideal state in the Buddhist classicsand both the contemporary innovation in the design. Shift From a traditionallandscape design and the design results, with environmental behavior as the basis, tothe design which frome vision, hearing, touch, smell, taste, and psychologicalsignificance levels, based on the importance of effecting factors, design Multi-levelly, deeply, integritly. With more meticulous care in taking the needs ofspecial populations such as the meditator into account, ecological landscape design,planting of native plants, urgent funding as well as creating a decent man-lessculture to keep construction and maintenance of low-cost are all needed to be takeninto consideration with explosive solving method of landscape.Hope the finallandscape planning and design results can meet the mental and physical needs of theenvironment of the gradual increasing meditator in the meditation process, toachieve inner peace joy.
