Find One's True Self-Landscape Design Of Meditation Resort In Louhe, Zhengzhou

With the fast urbanization in China,the worse development of cities destroyed the living environment.Extreme weathers such as haze and sand storm could badly affect the physical and mental health of people.In order to relax the mood and experience different life styles,residents in city taking vacations.However,most vacation resort only focus on physical relaxation,ignoring the need for a better environment from people's heart.People find that inside the Chinese tradition culture,meditation can help them with finding themselves,since meditation has a high requirement of environment,which satisfies people's need.Merchants,however,intending to earn bunch of money,are holding meditation classes in city.They neglect the importance of environment to meditation.The result is that places for meditation are crowd,meditation ways are similar,meditation content are not sophisticated,environment is worse,and there exists no features among the classes.Under such circumstance,people cannot experience the true meaning of meditation.1.This paper starts from meditation environment,with the traditional landscape design of Chinese gardens,intending to design a resort town for meditation.By deeply analyze the current development of meditation,this paper conclude the main content formeditation.With the thorough analyze toward successful blueprint,this paper argue that themeditation landscape design should include the following elements:2.Environment: meditation site should be located in a place with nice weather,abundant water and forest resources.Such environment can help people better understand the meaning of meditation;3.Culture: modern meditation is an activity that mixes arts,tea ceremony,Kung Fu and meditation.It uses different cultural approaches to release people's pressure;4.Design: the design should show its respect to the traditional garden design in China,which combines with religious,architecture and plant features to express its design style.This can avoid mass modern planning layout.Based on the elements above,this paper concludes with a design mechanism for meditation resort.Meanwhile,with the field work in Louhe Village,Er Qi District in Zhengzhou,this paper shows its specific understanding to local landform,environment and resources,thus providing a comprehensive “multi-cultural meditation” design blueprint,featuring “a place for different ages and different background people”.It adequately uses the landform,landscape resources,traffic resources and forest resources.Finally,this paper offers a general design blueprint for “mental relaxation” meditation resorts and provides references for future research.
