The development of electric vehicles is restricted by little energy of battery in unitweight. As motor control technology is mature gradually, study on electric vehiclesmainly focuses on how to extend endurance mileage. Increase of endurance mileagerelies on not only battery technology but also power assembly and control technology,high-efficiency transmission system and full-featured energy control strategy. How toimprove endurance mileage and overall performance is an urgent need for improvingelectric vehicle technology and the main research direction.In this article, one new dual-drive electric vehicle power transmission system isproposed to achieve the desired purpose of further improving endurance mileage of pureelectric vehicle based on current battery technology and by innovation-driven andoptimizing structure/performance parameters. Main contents of matching design in dual-drive electric vehicle power transmission system parameters and simulation modelingare as follows:â‘ The single-motor electric vehicle power transmission systems shall be matched,including principles for selection of transmission system scheme and matching ofdriving motor parameters and traction battery pack parameters, and dynamic propertyand endurance mileage of pure electric vehicle shall be analyzed. During analysis,evaluation methods on maximum speeding, gradability and acceleration and calculationof endurance mileages at constant speeds and under various working conditions arefocused.â‘¡The dual-drive electric vehicle power transmission system structure is proposedin this article, and the working principle is analyzed under such structure. Relevantparameters of dual-drive electric vehicle power transmission system (including analysison demanded power, battery performance parameters and battery pack systemparameters, etc.) shall be matched, and impact of transmission system on vehicle isanalyzed. Relevant parameters of dual-drive electric vehicle power transmission system(including characteristic parameters of planetary mechanism and speed ration ofsingle-reduction gearbox and main reduction gearbox) shall be matched.â‘¢This article sets forth the control strategies and control points and proposes thecontrol strategies for vehicle. The simulation models for vehicle power transmissionsystem (including driving condition model, driver model, vehicle dynamics model, regenerative braking model, battery model, motor and control model) are set up underMatlab/Simulink environment. Then, vehicle dynamics model for simulation calculationis set up according to the actual power transmission line of vehicle, so as to layfoundation for simulation calculation of vehicle dynamics and fuel economy.â‘£Simulation analysis on power properties and economic performances ofsingle-motor and dual-motor transmission systems shall be conducted respectively, andimpact on dual-motor transmission system (including impact of characteristicparameters on vehicle performance and motor power distribution on vehicleperformance) shall be analyzed.
