As an effective mean of structural vibration damping, constrained layer damping(CLD) technology reduces the vibration amplitude by energy dissipation. And thistechnology has been characterized as safty and reliable. Therefor, it has broadapplication prospects for control of structure vibration and noise of auto, aerospace andship. However, it increases quility of the structure. This paper studies the dynamictopology optimiazation of constrained layer damping structure. It provides a theoreticaland technical support for the optimus design and engineering application of CLDstructure. This study mainly includes the following items:1. According to the constitutive relation of elastic layer, visco-elastic layer andconstrained lay, this paper builds the finite element dynamics model of constrainedlayer damping structure with energy method. It calculates the mode parameter anddynamics response.2. The topology optimization model of CLD structure is established based on ESO(Evolutionary Structural Optimization) method. The sensitivity of modal loss factor todesign variables is analyzed and derived. And the sensitivity is checked by usingindependent mesh filter method. Then the topology optimization procedures are given.Numerical examples show that ESO method is easy to use and the optimal layout ofconstrained damping material has some effect.3. The variable density method is studied to apply for topology optimization ofCLD structure. The topology optimization model is established by using SIMPinterpolation method. The expression of sensitivity is derived. Numerical examples aresolved by using the OC (Optimality Criteria) algorithm. The theoretical andexperimental results show that the proposed topology optimization method is effective.It show that the OC method is applicable for constrained layer damping structure andhas advantage of qucik iteration, high computational efficiency and good optimal effect.4. The MMA (Method of Moving Asymptotes) is studied to apply for topologyoptimization of CLD structure. The topology optimization model is established based onMMA. The sensitivity of object fuction and constraint function is derived. The topologyoptimization procedures are given to solve the numerical examples. Valuable optimalresults are obtained. At last, comprehensive comparison among the three topologyoptimization method in this paper are introduced.
