Active constrained layer damping technology has the both function of passive constrained damping and active control technology. Through active and passive integrated control technology, we can get a wide frequency band, high efficiency and safety control. Active constrained layer damping technology demonstrated its capacious applications in vibration and noise control on the automotive, aircraft and ships. This paper is focuses on the Natural Science Foundation of"Hydro- load composite shell's integration of vibration control and topology optimization"while mainly makes researches on the distribution of damping materials of active constrained layer damping and distribution of voltage on piezoelectricity layer. It supplies the theory and technology support for optimization design and engineering applications of active constrained layer damping. The main research contents are:①According to the constitutive relation of elastic, visco-elastic and piezoelectricity materials, this paper builds the finite element dynamics model of active constrained layer damping structure with energy method. It calculates the mode parameter and dynamics response.②Topology optimization model are built. Damping material density and consumption are considered as design variable and constraint respectively, while structural modal damping ratio is designed as target function in the topology optimization approach. The sensitivity of modal damping ratio to design variable is derived and used to determine the optimized topology distribution of constrained layer damping treatment. The Optimality Criteria method is used to solve the distribution of damping materials, and a topology optimization approach based on OC are proposed. The numerical example showed that: The topology optimization approach based on OC is convergent, and it has high computationally efficiency and the result is stable.③The theory and characteristic of MMA (The method of moving asymptote) are introduced. The optimization distribution of constrained damping structure is solved with MMA. This paper proposes a topology optimization approach of constrained damping layer based on MMA, and the optimization flow is present. The result shows: The topology optimization method of constrained damping base on MMA convert the distribution of damping materials to thickness distribution of damping cell. It has powerful practicability on engineering. ④The topology optimization model of voltage in piezoelectric layer is built. The single-channel excitation voltages are considered as the variables, while the amplitude of base plate is designed as objective functions in the topology optimization problems. The electricity consumption is taken as constraint. The sensitivity of modal damping ratio to design variable is derived. The distributions of voltage in piezoelectric layer are calculated with MMA. This paper creatively presented the topology optimization of voltage distribution on the surface of piezoelectric materials.⑤The experiment is investigated on topology optimization of active constrained layer damping, including the mode parameter and Frequency Response Function of without damping structure, fully covered with damping structure and optimization structure. This validates the validity of dynamic model and topology optimization method.
