Urban traffic is the basis of urban development. But with the growing scale ofmodern city, traffic control and traffic management problems have become the obstaclefor the further development of the city. With the development of informationtechnology, using Intelligent Transportation Systems to solve the traffic problemsbecome the research focus. Currently the technology which used in IntelligentTransportation Systems are circular coil, magnetic, pressure sensor, ultrasonic, infrared,radar, video, GPS and GPRS, RFID, etc. And RFID technology in addition to theall-weather work, low cost, easy deployment, multi-target recognition, not destroy theenvironment, from the environment and the influence of light and a long life and othercharacteristics, can also have the vehicle identification and authentication of the uniqueadvantages. This paper will research the application of Internet of Vehicles which isbased on RFID technology.In this paper, the main contribution show in the following aspects:①Design the architecture of Internet of Vehicles which has car tags, roadsidedevice and network. Design the active RFID tag in Internet of Vehicles with thedual-band structure, frequency range and performance indicators. And research on itsworking mode and possible adjacent-channel interference problem. Finally, asimulation was designed for analyzing the deploy parameters of Internet of Vehicles.②Traffic flow parameters detection theory in Intelligent Transportation Systemswith the Internet of Vehicles is introduced. Given the detection model of the traditionalparameters such as density, average space headway, traffic volume, average timeheadway, and space mean speed. Also the detection theory of selection probability,average travel time and the average delay time which newly proposed turn intomeasurable parameters were derived. Two experiments were designed to test and veritythe correctness of the detection theory.③The Internet of Vehicles was brought in OD matrix estimation based on thedetection model of traffic flow parameters. The acquisition mode of OD matrix inhighway is analyzed. And the estimation model of OD matrix with missing data isimproved. Meanwhile, using Lagrange multiplier method to the maximum likelihoodestimated of the probability OD matrix elements were derived, and shows the detailedprocess OD matrix estimation based on EM algorithm. Finally, a simulation experiment with912nodes based on Chongqing inner highway shows the flow ofthe algorithm and verifies the correctness, feasibility and effectiveness of the model.
