With the rapid development and popularization, intelligent building has attractedmuch interest recently. Automatic building system is the main part of the intelligentbuilding, including the drainage, electricity, lighting and elevator, automatic firealarm. It can be realized to monitor or manage the building comprehensively throughthe automatic building system. What’s more, it can also help to create a safe,comfortable, and environmental-friendly environment for users. With the progress ofscience and technology and the development of the network, the majority ofhousehold electrical appliances and office automation equipment are with standbyfunction, which is in great convenience to people. On the other hand, it’s also a wasteof energy. Electrical appliances standby power consumption grows so fast that thefamily and the society have to pay a lot of useless cost. Owing to its capability ofenergy-saving, intelligent switch socket got population among consumers. It hasbecome the research hotspot of new energy-saving products.In this paper, in order to reduce the standby energy consumption of buildingelectrical socket, we explore the design principle, and the prototype to experiment, toverify its energy saving effect. In our multi-function power saving socket, the micropower single chip STC5608AD is used as the core of information processing. Thereare several main modules we elaborated in this paper, which includes a powerdetection module, an infrared receiving module, relay control module, and single-chipsystem design module. The power-saving socket has many functions such asautomatic dormancy, over current and over voltage protection, remote control opening,and state prompting system. So it is applicable to all types of home appliances, andcan effectively reduce the standby energy co nsumption of electrical. The socketcommunicates through the wireless chip CC1110and signal routing. Through PCsoftware display and view the state of the receptacle, it can accurately monitor thestate of each socket in the building.
