Streets are the integral part of urban planning. Like a huge web, they not onlyconnect the “life space body” of the city, but also connect people’s life closely. Here,they not only play an important role in promoting the culture and information of city,but also act as an integral space of city’s life. They also provide a communicate placefor people and are the stage for people’s daily life, including joy and sorrow.Streets are core element of urban space and city always born from streets. Theynot only determine the interests and attraction of the city, but also determine thequality of people’s life. For instance, people’s life efficiency will be hugely increasedif the street planning is rational and functional. So, as an important part of urbanplanning, landscape construction of streets should be emphasized. Its color, lights,vegetation distribution and setting of relax facilities are the standard of its humanity.Because of the geographical and cultural differences, different street of the city has itsown unique characteristics.Streets are not independent, they comprise architecture, people, and environmentelements. They are the complexity of city space and closely connect with city’s square,park, riparian zone and city axis. Different street landscape establishes the continuousspace sequence, combining with people’s behavior mode, and becoming a citylandscape visual corridor.In terms of street’s derivation and development, this article analyzed street’sconstruction landscape elements and other elements of city’s space, and thendiscussed the positive effects of typical elements of cities’ street landscape.
