Subway station area as the subway network anchor point is an important linkbetween the urban rail transport and neighboring functional areas. It is also the core ofregional development. Reasonable development of the subway station is conductive tomany aspects, such as the improvement of the surrounding traffic, the functionalintegration of land, the expansion of the urban space, public space environment andlandscape optimization, disaster prevention capacity enhancements. Currently manydomestic cities are capable of constructing subway and they are building them. TakingTianjin as an example, in “Tianjin City domain comprehensive transportationplanning (2008)â€, the government planned242kilometers of subway network withinthe inner ring. However, the dynamic demand for the comprehensive development ofthe station area is under intensively study. Other issues are also at the exploratorystage, such as the organization of traffic around, commerce and land use. Therefore, there are important theoretical value and practical significance for the study of thecomprehensive development of the subway station and its surroundings.First of all, this paper discusses the reason for the study of comprehensivedevelopment of subway station and its surroundings. The discussion is divided intofour aspects, respectively, the integration of city, construction and transportation, thedevelopment and utilization of land, the development planning of underground space, the transfer at subway transportation hub. Theoretical research and practical progressin related fields are elaborated and the research results are commented. I believe thatthe comprehensive development of the station and its surroundings plays a crucial rolein optimizing the structure of urban space and improving traffic conditions.Secondly, I summarize the concept of comprehensive development of the subwaystation and its surroundings. I discuss the two major characteristics of a station as anode and a place. Then I analyze various factors that can affect the classification ofsubway stations and their surroundings, and classify them. Relying solely on thegrading system is difficult to fully describe the function, form, layout and scale of asubway station and its surroundings. So I also classify the stations and theirsurroundings in another point of view, considering their urban functions and spatialform, in order to better grasp the similarities and differences of the development modeof different subway stations. Then, I analyze the theories related to the comprehensive development of thesubway station and its surroundings. According to the analysis of literature data, Itake some cities and regions as an example. Foreign cities as examples are Roppongiin Tokyo, La Defense in Paris, Munich in Germany and domestic regions as examplesare Hongkong Kowloon, Xujiahui and Hongqiao comprehensive transport hub inShanghai. The mode of transportation, commerce, land use pattern is explored and thecharacteristics are summarized.I put forward station comprehensive development model and planning methods inthree respects, respectively, transportation transfer, commercial development and landuse around the station area. In traffic convergence, I analyze the different levels oftransfer system, the principles of giving priority to facility layout and how to create acomprehensive system of transfer. In commercial development, I analyze the businessscope of influence and classify the commercial spaces. At the same time, commercialspace integration suggestions are proposed. In land use around the station, land usepatterns are analyzed and summarized. Simultaneously, the operability of mixed landuse in our country is discussed. Finally, I take the Tianjin subway transfer hub Southwest Corner station andYingkou Road station as two examples, and use the proposed planning method tostudy these two examples. I put forward the existing problems and correspondingsuggestions in four areas, respectively, the land use, the development of undergroundspace, development density and intensity, transit and facilities. |
