With the development of economy and society, the old-age problem has become the key issues, instead of primary question, which affect the current social life most. As the era progresses andconstantly updates, the society put forward higher requirement continually. In the past, the time, children played together in the street, however, it has been not seen for a long time. The newelements in this era provide more beneficial factors for children’s growth; however, relying onthese factors, children’s growing environment has become single and isolated. Hence, we proposea topic about how should we re-shaping the children’s growing environment under suchconditions. This article takes the communities elderly daycare center (elderly care) and communitykindergartens and nurseries space (child care) as the main object of studying, and takes the way ofhow to combine these two care centers to develop a mutual collaborate design as the mainresearch direction. Under the background of comprehensively promotion of constructingcommunity elderly day care center in China and from children’s psychological need andbehavioral activity features, this article discussed in the context of researching the design patternsof the community elderly day care center and children’s activity space. Through study of theexisting community elderly care model and comparative analysis of the existing elderly caremodel management system, design ideas and operating status, the key issues of Chinese elderlycare problems has been addressed. The Aged-care mode done by institution satisfies the situationin maximum extent that old people could be looking after without leaving their familiarenvironment, and this mode does compensate for the other two modes.Through questionnaires, based on the analysis and summary of the current living state inkindergarten, questions about elderly care, child caring and other aspects have been found. On thisbasis, this paper attempts to start from behavioral principle, use modern sociological theory, whilebase on the environmental behavior, psychology, the traditional architecture and other relatedtheories, and re-excavate the psychological needs of the target population. From indoor activityspace, dining space, traffic space, and outdoor space, view of the functional modules combineddesign patterns and the resulting beneficial factors have been pointed out. With the originalintention of "people-oriented", by the use of composite functional architecture design, I hope toget new ideas about community elderly care mode and kindergartens design, to create a positiveliving environment for the "elderly","kids ", so as to make city life more healthy and harmonious.
