Terrorist bomb attack has become a big threat to the international social security,causing a disastrous effect on politics, economy and lives of people. The research onexplosion protection and design for architecture starts late and few results can befound. Most of the existing buildings possess potential safety hazard under blastloading as explosion protection is not considered during design course. Thus, theresearch on explosion protection is urgent and has become one of the hot topics inacademic research.Both blast precautionary criterion and blast conceptual design are key parts inresearch on blast precautionary design. The former is the foundation of blast resistantdesign for building structure, and the latter is indispensable. This paper conductsfollowing research on:(1) Establish the blast precautionary criterion which is suitable for China’snational conditions. In this paper, the concept of blast precautionary intensity and theblast precautionary goal are proposed referring to the basic system of category andcriterion for seismic precaution of buildings in China and the blast precautionarygrade for buildings is established based on this two concepts. Secondly, the concept ofblast precautionary importance and blast vulnerability are introduced, and then thispaper evaluates the explosion risk level based on risk analysis. And the blastprecautionary criterion is proposed accordingly. Finally, blast precautionarycategories are put forward according to the blast precautionary importance ofbuildings.(2) Made an overview the existing research results on blast resistant conceptualdesign. Based on the summery of related data, an overview is made on the ideas ofblast resistant conceptual design&construction measure and further research on safeprotection distance&redundancy:①Safe protection distance is one of the basicideas of blast resistant conceptual design. Based on the blast precautionary criterion,index values of the different blast precautionary grade are calculated using minimumsafe protection distances as safe index.②In blast resistant conceptual design, theoptimization of redundancy should be considered and the contribution to structureglobal redundancy varied for different components. Based on the existing accomplishment, this paper proposes a recognition method of component importancefor framework structure.To a certain extent, the research findings of this paper provide reference andguidance for the explosion protection design of building structures in our nation,which will ensure the unity of reliability, economy and safety. |
