Extradosed bridge with corrugated steel webs girder is the combination ofbox-girder bridge with corrugated steel webs and extradosed cable-stayed bridge. Thebridge has been widespread concerned by the engineering since the two extradosedbridges with corrugated steel webs girder (Rittoh Bridge Himi Bridge of Janpan) havebeen completed, as the bridge is in line with the light weight of structure, long spanand composited structure of the three trends of modern bridge.In this paper, the research and development both at home and aboard issummarized, one extradosed bridge with corrugated steel webs girder which meets thestandard requirement is redesigned based on a completed pretressed concreteextradosed bridge. The finite element model is built up by the finite element softwareMidas Civil, the internal forces and deformation under static load, the structureresponse under seismic action, the degradation of the structure based on the materialproperties and the life cycle cost of the two bridges is calculated respectively. Theresults are as follows:1. The internal forces and stress of extradosed bridge with corrugated steel websgirder under limit state load meet the relative standard. The stress and deformation ofgirder and the stress of cable of each construction stage of extradosed bridge withcorrugated steel webs meet the standard, so the structure is safe.2. In the same seismic input, the displacement response of the extradosed bridgewith corrugated steel webs girder is larger than the pretressed concrete extradosedbridge, but the internal force response is smaller than its. That shows the seismicperformance of extradosed bridge with corrugated steel webs girder is better.3.The analysis of the degradation shows that the extradosed bridge withcorrugated steel webs girder is relatively lighter, the trend of the degradation is moregentle than pretressed concrete extradosed bridge.4. The analysis of life cycle cost of the two bridges shows that the extradosedbridge with corrugated steel webs girder is more economy as the lower life cycle cost.
