Direct drive servo motor is characterized by high degree of accuracy andrepeatability, extremely high acceleration and velocity. Direct drive motor inautomation equipment significantly enhance its production efficiency. In somesimple and repetitive motions for large output production process, such as theassembly of small home appliances and smart phones, there is a growing number ofhigh-speed automated equipment intervene.Voice coil motor is one kind of direct drive motor. It has the advantages ofdirect drive motor within a compact size and easy to control. In recent years, withthe gradual promotion of the voice coil motor technology enables it’s widely used inprecision positioning systems and many different forms of multi-axis motion system.Research and development of a voice coil motor servo system is very critical.Solution for high-speed multi-axis servo system is proposed which integratetwo-degrees-of-freedom servo motions in one device. This device has low responsetime with small size and low mass. For specific production requirements, a structureof linear and rotary voice coil motor is designed having all the advantages of directdrive servo motor with high integration. In the design process of the magneticstructure, the parameters are optimized by electromagnetic simulation software forrapid response capability has been improved.The voice coil motor driver with closed loop position servo control is designedbased on Digital Signal Processor. Bipolar reversible PWM technology-driven isused in the voice coil motor drive circuit, to strike a balance between controllingfever and reducing static friction.Through the establishment of the mathematical model of the voice coil motorand PID position loop control algorithm as the core, a voice coil motor closed loopservo controller is achieved. Different motion control requirement such as zeroovershoot or rapid response can be achieved by modifying the parameters and it isverified by experiment.
