With the increasing of auto quantity, the negative factors it brings also emergegradually and the traffic accident is one of the most important issues. As thedisadvantaged group of the road traffic participation, pedestrians get more attention dueto the high mortality rate when traffic accidents occur.After the traffic accident happens, in order to determine the accident liabilities, weneed to identify the speed of the vehicle. However, with a large numberof applications used in automotive electronics in recent years, especially a widely usedof ABS in vehicles, so a vehicle will not leave clear brake trace when it makes fullbraking, so we can’t apply the accurate and effective speed calculation method. Thevehicle speed calculation based on pedestrian throw distance can only be applied whenthe vehicle speed is low, so we need to study the speed range of application on thepedestrian throw distance theory, and obtain speed calculation formulas from pedestrianthrow on a high speed range.Firstly, this paper research the types of pedestrians and vehicles collision and theinfluencing factors, along with the analysis of the influencing factors of pedestrians’movement form after crashed. Except for this, speed calculation of a vehicle whencollides with a pedestrian which under circumstances of no braking traces will beprovided and the method of pedestrian throw distance will be served as a key statement.Then the thesis introduces the Pc-Crash software and basic theory of Multi-rigidbody briefly, coupled with analysis of feasibility of the simulation.Secondly, the paper sets a people-vehicle collision model on the conditionsof front, rear, and side and gets the relationship between speed and pedestrians fromdifferent contact spacing and angle according to the simulation text table. Then the dataof pedestrian and speed were fitting by using the MATLAB curve fitting toolbox, aftergot these formulas, the paper makes a comparison.Finally, the paper analyzes two real pedestrian and car collision cases, analysis oftwo curves on the pedestrian’ side and the vehicle collision will be given and makes acomparison between the calculation speed and the curving fitting speed, whichverify the feasibility of the formula proposed in this paper.This thesis is built on the basis of research in accident investigation and thenanalyzes actors which affect patterns of pedestrian movement after car crash, In addition,simulation as well as some fitting formula are used. And then the paper provides a newspeed calculation method for speed identification of pedestrians and vehicles accidents.
