Hydraulic manifold block design is the key step in the design of hydraulic systemintegration design, while cartridge manifold block design is the mainstream in thedevelopment of hydraulic system. The cartridge manifold block outer layout design andcartridge manifold block internal holes connection design is both completely. The differenthydraulic system has multiple and complex hydraulic components. For these reasons,there is no relatively perfect design platform. Based on the cartridge hydraulic system, thepaper deeply studies the optimizing design of outer layout and internal holes connection.At the same time, the paper systematically studies the key questions in the design processof hydraulic manifold block in order to improve the design quality and shorten the designperiod.Based on the completely analysis of the cartridge manifold block design process andhydraulic manifold block design features, the optimization design mathematical model ofcartridge manifold block is established. The design variables, the optimization objects andconstraints are defined. The cartridge manifold block design is divided into several keyprocedures, including shape interference check, outer layout design, channel interferencecheck, internal holes connection design. The mathematical model and applicationalgorithm of each procedure are given and lay a foundation for developing the cartridgemanifold block design software system. The optimization design of outer layout andinternal holes connection is solves by intelligent optimization algorithm combined withengineering constraint rules. An effective approach that solves cartridge manifold blocklayout and connection problem is provided.According to the above research achievements of the optimization design of cartridgemanifold block layout and connection, the cartridge manifold block design softwaresystem is developed by integrating the algorithm of typical procedures in cartridgemanifold block optimization design and using Visual Basic6.0and Solid works. Thesystem builds an opening database with enough information of components throughMicrosoft Access2003, which servers as the hydraulic components data transmission platform. Finally a typical cartridge manifold block is designed by using this software andthe results have verified the practicability of this software as well as the validity ofalgorithms of every procedure.
