Energy efficiency benchmarking is one of the latest approaches to performmanagement for the enterprises that can mainly contribute to improve performanceand surpass other competitors by means of data collection, analysis, comparison,tracking study and a series of standardized procedures. For governments it is alsoavailable by using energy efficiency benchmarking to master energy consumptionlevel of the enterprises, so that governments achieve reform measures, rectificationsmanagement and supervision in time. Therefore, benchmarking energy efficiency issignificant to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises for sustainabledevelopment of the cement industry and energy saving.Based on the energy consumption limit per unit product of the current cemententerprises, the energy consumption index per unit product of the start-up cemententerprises and the energy consumption index per unit product of the advancedcement enterprises; this paper performs the statistical range of fuel consumption andpower consumption in detail. Second, this research also concludes the bench markindex and software system of energy efficiency benchmarking for cement enterprises.Third, this software system establishes five representative benchmark values with thecomparable comprehensive power consumption of clinker, the comparablecomprehensive coal consumption of clinker, the comparable comprehensive energyconsumption of clinker, the comparable comprehensive power consumption of cementand the comparable comprehensive energy consumption of cement. In addition, thepaper performs computational methods in detail. Moreover, this paper presentssoftware deployment structure and logical structure for implementation of “Energyefficiency benchmarking software system for the cement enterprises”. Furthermore, itpresents general structure design of the database for the “energy efficiencybenchmarking software system”, which also performs the procedure implementation of each functional module and detailed design of critical code.Currently,33cement enterprises are using “Energy efficiency benchmarkingsystem” to perform management in Shan Xi Province. The “Energy efficiencybenchmarking software system” sets up efficient bench mark indicators by analyzingthe energy consumption data which is reported monthly and calculating the fiverepresentative benchmark values.Based on scientific and reasonable evaluation for “Energy EfficiencyBenchmarking Software System” and the benchmark indicators, this thesissummarizes applicability and science of the software system, and it performs furtherdiscussion around improvement and how to promote the software system.
