The paper designs a coal mine sub-station monitoring system of acquiring gas concentration data. The monitoring system through the multiple signal acquisition and processing terminal acquires the gas concentration signal and then converts analog to digital. The converted results of gas concentration signal are compared with the thresholds, according to the compared result, the bell and light doing for alarm, data transmission, display and other operations; thus system’s function of monitoring the coal gas concentration signal is achieved. Among them, the system uses the CAN bus technology to communicate with the host computer and the other sub-stations. In response to a power-down and other special circumstances, the system is configured with standby power interface, data registers and other peripheral hardware.The sub-station uses the microprocessor core for the design of the gas concentration monitoring system. The system choices the fiber optic gas sensors as the methane gas sensor, and the collected signals are conveyed to signal inputs of the microprocessor’s analog-digital converter module, then microprocessor communicates with PC and other sub-station by CAN bus controller and transceiver, so the coal mine gas monitoring system may achieve interconnection and data transfer between the central station and the sub-station. The microprocessor achieves display for multiple gas concentration data by refreshing the display data. Keyboard may achieve the gas concentration’s threshold and system parameters settings, etc.The paper applies PROTEUS of drawing system’s schematic of hardware, building software simulation platform. Sub-station software uses a modular software design methods to debug software system block. Applying KEIL software of debugging of each module, combining, generating software systems, downloading to PROTEUS environment for simulation.The system can achieve detection of gas concentrations, overrun alarm, display, CAN data transmission and other functions.
