Optical fiber communication has greatly improved the network transmission capacity.and played a more and more important role in the field of information transmission through30years of development. At the same time, the rapid development of optical communication technology also has brought tremendous changes to the whole world communication industry. Fluoride glass with its low theoretical loss, low nonlinear coefficient is small, large Abbe number.low refractive index.Is acknowledged as a new material for optical fiber communication, and caused great concern to the people.In the erbium ytterbium Co-doped fluorophosphate glass.Er3+itself is difficult to achieve the ion beam reversal condition, and after the accession of the Yb3+in the system.because of the process of energy transfer between the ytterbium erbium ion, the absorption efficiency of the pump is improved obviously.This paper briefly introduces the ytterbium erbium ion energy structure and luminescence mechanism, and optimizes the formula through the experiment, it has proved that the rare earth doped fluorophosphate glass has excellent optical properties through the test.confimed that when the erbium concentration is0.8mol%and when Yb3+/Er3+ratio is1:6, the absorption cross section Σσabs=25.3761×104pm2, transmission interface=25.134×10-21cm2of the glass reached the maximum.The glass fiber through drawing can also gain good performance.the gain of units length in wavelength1550nm is4.385dB/cm.the performance is relatively good.In order to achieve a better effect with the pump coupling.optical fiber is designed into the double clad fiber, fiber core radius is3.2um. the inner cladding radius is32um. the cladding radius is65um, numerical aperture of NAcore=0.18, NAcladding=0.4.
