In the mine design under the guidance of the sustainable development strategy, the dump site design should not only to enable it to hold all of the dump soil with less costs, but also to harmonize with the surrounding natural environment. So the dump site design should consider conventional factors such as engineering geology, hydrology and the surrounding factors such as cultural landscapes, ecological environment, it is a multi-objective decision making problem which considers a number of factors.At the same time, the application of geo-modeling methods for dump sites can improve the scientific and normative of dump site selection decision as well as the economic, environmental benefits of decision scheme; reduce the decision-makers the negative effects of the limitations of subjective judgment. It’s important to a reasonable use of funds and comprehensive benefits of construction investment improving.This paper systematically analyzes and summarizes the influence factors of the dump site design, proposed GIS modeling method by combined with the AHP method to build the dump site selection evaluation model, and then optimize the dump site selection method in the model. Basic Contents:①comprehensively analyzed the factors that affect the dump site, select six factor-layers:features, lithological, Valley, slope, distance, and fault as foundation layer of the evaluation mode.②reclassified dump site selection factors according to factors characteristic of each layer, assigned to the corresponding evaluation values based on the evaluation results.③Use AHP to determine the factor-layer weight sin the evaluation model. Use ArcGIS to optimum weight stacking the selection factor-weights to establish dump sites evaluation model.④Using3Dmine, CAD program to calculate the volume of the initial site selection, make volume comparison.Through spoibank-site evaluation this paper quantifies geological and geographic al factors in spoibank-site and solves the problem of unified model in the different nat ure spoibank-site factors that provides new ideas for spoibank-site which is an issue o f multi-factors and multi-objective space decision. Used space analysis function in Ar cGIS, the spoibank-site evaluation model is proposed.It intuitively reflects change of spoibank-site sensitivity factors and has important practical value for mine design and production operation.By comparing the site of spoibank-site model to techno-econom ic comparison and field reconnaissance,that verified the effectiveness and practicabili ty of the methods proposed in this paper.
