Office chair is designed for the convenience of working in the daily work and social activities. The design method of office chair is relatively backward, single loop mode of production in domestic furniture industry, resulting in high design cost and long development cycle. The thesis develops a new multi-functional office chair, based on the requirements of European customers, use the finite element method for simulation analysis of intensity. The main work of the thesis includes:Firstly, the thesis describes the research’s background and significance, then analyzes the development status of office chair, the application of simulation in the office chair at home and abroad.Secondly, the design of office chair. Based on ergonomic, thesis analyzes human posture and applies it to the design of office chair. According to customer’s requirements and the principles of design, we provide the initial design project and design appropriate structure for each function, then create a detailed3d model.Thirdly, the simulation analysis of the intensity of office chair. Based on ANSI/BIFMA X5.1.1-2002standard, we simulate and analyze the components of office chair by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench, and improve the design of structure, then confirm the final3d model.Fourthly, the experimental study of office chair. Finish the sample of the office chair, based on ANSI/BIFMA X5.1.1-2002standard, the office chair is carried out on the backrest static strength test, armrest level and vertical test, armrest fatigue strength test, base static strength test and chair’s impact strength test, verify the correctness of the results of simulation.
