Research On The Relationship Between Air Quality And Economy Development In Major Cities Of China

As China’s industrialization and urbanization is speeding up, environmentalproblems become the focus of attention. Human’s production and living affected bythe air pollution, it is one of the major environmental risk affecting the human health.Cities as the highly intensive area of the population and economic activities, the airquality assessment, improvement and management is the key of the air pollutionprevention and control. A clearly air quality level helps people to make travelarrangements and the relationship between air quality and economic growth in majorcities of China provides reference for related departments to take correspondingmeasures to protect the environment.To select the factors of air quality evaluation by using the analytic hierarchyprocess （AHP） at first, confirms that the urban air quality evaluation index are PM₁₀,SO₂and NO₂.Secondly, it establishes the model of air quality level classification toforecast based on support vector machine （SVM） according to the annual averagedensity of the evaluation index, and to classify the level of air quality about29cities.The best penalty parameters and kernel function by using the cross validation areselected, and the classification accuracy is contrasted according to the different way ofnormalization and kernel function. Finally, it selects the [0,1] normalization and RBFkernel function. According to the data availability, we select25cities forEnvironmental Kuznets Curve analysis; Next, the environmental and economicindicators of the relationship analysis between air quality and economic developmentare selected. We analyse the air quality of these25cities by using the method of airpollution index, and indicate that the air pollution index was the environmentalindicators. It analyses the economic conditions of25cities, and indicate that the GDPper capita is the economic indicators. Finally, the Environmental Kuznets Curvemodel of the25cities according to the environment and economic indicators isestablished, and comparative analysis about the fitting difference of theEnvironmental Kuznets Curve to the two and three level air quality is made.On the basis, the reason of the inverted "U" compliance of the EnvironmentalKuznets Curve about the relationship between air quality and economic growth is analysed. According to the conclusion, the suggestions of air quality improvement andthe coordinated development between the environment and economic growth are putforward.
