Nowadays manufacturing technology is witnessing a rapid development. Mechanical industry is experiencing the development of large-scale, high-speed, high-precision and high-performance. Equipment manufacturing is the pillar industry of the national economy and building of national defense, and is a manifestation of a country’s comprehensive national strength. Machine tool manufacturing is the basis of equipment manufacturing industry. The milling-grinding center with efficient, high-speed, high-precision features becomes important process equipment.When machining beds of large machines, we need milling machines and grinding machines. This method has low production efficiency, low position accuracy, low machining accuracy. The milling-grinding centers are used to machine these machines, solving the problems of production efficiency and accuracy. The main contents of this paper are as follows.(1) The driving system is designed. The driving system includes workbench driving system, beam driving system, convention series driving system, grinding unit driving system. In this article, I concentrated my efforts on the study of the workbench driving system and the beam driving system. Column screw is used in the workbench driving system. It has high load-carrying ability. The supporting device can be used, suited for long distance-transmission. Two T screws were driven by a servo motor in the beam driving system. This method is relatively simple and cost less. It can ensure the accuracy of the lifting. Finally, the accuracy of the driving system was analyzed. The analysis shows that the positional accuracy of the servo-feed system is determined by the accuracy of the linear encoder made by HEIDENHAIN. From the test results, the accuracy of the linear encoder is±2μm and the measuring step is0.1μm, fully meeting the demand of the positional accuracy. Therefore, the accuracy of the workbench driving system can be guaranteed.(2) The design method of the slide was studied and the oil-supply principle of the constant pressure type and constant flow type was analyzed. By comparing between the two types, choose the constant pressure oil-supply system. Finally, this research describes the unloading hydrostatic slide. The unloading hydrostatic slide selected by the machine tool was designed and analyzed. Determine the width of the unloading hydrostatic slide, choose the structure of the oil chamber, determine the length and quantity of the oil chamber, and draw the blueprint of the oil-supply for the machine tool.(3) The key part——beam was designed. First of all Ⅰ design the structure of the beam. Because the beam has both the bending deformation and torsion deformation, rectangular section shape was used. Then the model of the beam is found. And make static and modal analyses for the beam by ANSYS. The results indicate that the strength, stiffness and the Anti-vibration is good. The results also provide reliable theoretical basis and guidance for the further optimization design.At last the contribution of this paper for further research is presented.
