The human body including body shape and motion form, is the base of fashion design. The human body is an irregular three-dimensional model, which has thickness as well as height and width. And different thickness, height and width make the difference of body shape. If the individual having the same bust girth but having huge difference on their body thickness, then their shape would be quite different, which may causes them on a wholly same clothing having totally different effects.This paper combines various research methods, such as observation method, literature research method, experiments method, investigation method, quantitative research method, cross-disciplinary method, description method,as well as combines knowledge of various fields, such as garment design and engineering, arts and design, aesthetics, human ergonomics, anthropometry, statistics and so on. The experiment measures nearly two hundred18-25years old young female, by the aid of3D human body scanner, to obtain a large body size. Eliminating missing values and abnormal values, obtains174groups valid values. With the help of SPSS software, analyze the valid values, to obtain the distributions of young female’s body thickness, the proportion between body thickness and other important parts, the classification of body thickness. Finally, expound the application of body thickness on garment, such as clothing body form, garment size, garment structure and garment shape designing.In this paper, the study on body thickness of young female, by the aid of3D human body measurement technology, conduce to understanding the body dimension and constitution, conduce to understanding the distributions of young female’s body thickness, conduce to understanding the proportion between body thickness and other important parts, conduce to the improvement of clothing body form, conduce to the optimization of garment size, conduce to the circle degree figure classification, conduce to optimization of fashion designing for individuals or groups that have different body thickness, conduce to supplementary body dimension database. |
