The principle of production process of the hollow yarns woven fabrics has been studied in this paper. The hollow yarns woven fabric was developed through dissolving PVA fiber process of fabric where the cotton yarn and the cotton/water-soluble PVA fiber standing at intervals. First, the spinning process of the cotton/PVA filament corn-spun yarns with PVA filament as the corn yarn and cotton fiber as the outer fiber and with the size of14.5tex (3.88tex) was investigated. And the PVA filament has the water dissolution temperature of80℃. Cotton yarns with yarn number of14.5tex were spun using the same spinning process parameters to be the interval yarns. The single yarn strength and elongation, hairiness, uniformity and wear resistance of the two kinds of yams were tested, compared and analyzed. The result showed that the above performances of the two kinds of fibers are similar and this can meet Subsequent processing can meet the needs of subsequent processing.To guarantee the corn yarn of the cotton/PVA filament corn-spun yarn would not be dissolve, the corn yarn is complete after sizing, and to ensure that the hollow effect after PVA filament dissolving the low-temperature sizing of cotton/PVA filaments core-spun yarns was studied. The size recipe with PVA1799account for60%and cornstarch account for40%was adopted and with the solid content ratio was10%. Yarns of the two series adopted the same size recipe, but different sizing temperature:95degrees for cotton yarns and65degrees for cotton/PVA corn-spun yarns. The performances of the two kinds of fibers were tested, and the result showed that the difference between the two kinds of yarns is small, which promote the weaving of the fabric be smooth.The PVA fiber dissolving process was investigated through experiment. The orthogonal experiment with four factors and three levels of PVA fiber dissolving process was designed, and visual analysis and variance analysis with Minitab software was adopted. In final,the best PVA fiber dissolving process was received:temperature was100degrees, the sodium hydroxide concentration selected5g/L, the ratio was1:40and dissolving time selected50mins.A rational proportion of cotton yarn and cotton/PVA filament corn-spun yarn can make it possible for the cotton yarn in hollow yarn fabrics to play its role in supporting fully to make it impossible for hollow yarn to collapse and keep hollow effect of fabrics remain being there. In order to study the rational proportion, five kinds of woven fabrics concluding pure cotton fabric, pure cotton/PVA filament corn-spun yarn fabric and three other kinds of fabrics with the cotton yarn and the cotton/PVA filament core-spun yarns arraying according to the proportion of1to1,1to2and1to3and pure cotton fabric and were designed and woven. Four kinds of hollow yarns fabrics were produced through removing PVA filaments of yarn in fabric with the received best PVA dissolving process. The mechanical properties, comfort properties and heat and moisture comfort of the five fabrics were tested and compared analyzed, and the conclusion were obtained:the above properties of hollow yarns fabrics are better than cotton yarn fabric except the mechanical properties, and the fabric with the cotton yam and the cotton/PVA filaments core-spun yarns arraying according to the proportion of1to3has the best comprehensive performance.Three kinds of fabrics with the same specifications, different weaves including Plain,2/1twill and five Satin was designed and woven by arranging the cotton yam and the cotton/water-soluble PVA filaments core-spun yarns according to the proportion of1to3. These three kinds of woven fabrics were produced through removing PVA filaments of yarn in fabrics. The main performances of these fabrics were tested, and the results show that:five Satin is conductive to make the hollow effect work best and take the best performance.
