Study Of Current Situation And Measures For Prevention And Control Of Husbandry Pollution In Fuzhou City

Husbandry, as a pillar industry in China’s rural economy, is not only a majorsource of income for farmers, but constantly provides plenty of high-qualitylivestock and poultry products for our life. Thanks to the development of ruralconstruction in Fujian province, ongoing agricultural structure adjustment andincreasing material and cultural demand, the scale of livestock and poultry husbandryis expanding in rural areas. Consequently, both urban and rural dwellers’“shoppingbaskets” have been enriched and rural income has been raised. Mass livestock andpoultry waste, however, results in serious environmental pollution which has anegative impact on both surrounding agricultural production and local residents’living conditions. Furthermore, the waste easily leads to cross-infection betweenpeople and animals which threatens but also restricts the sustainable development oflivestock and poultry husbandry.The thesis explores the history of the livestock and poultry husbandry in Fuzhouby methods of literature research, field survey and comparative analysis. Meanwhile,the thesis provides first-hand data of treating livestock and poultry husbandrypollutants through investigating a couple of typical pollutants’ disposal sites in depth.Besides, by comparative analysis, the thesis objectively analyses the treatment oflocal livestock and poultry husbandry pollutants while making horizontal and verticalcomparisons with other regions. Based on successful cases of coping with livestockand poultry pollutants disposal home and abroad, at last, the thesis puts forward thefollowing control measures against livestock and poultry husbandry pollutants inFuzhou.First, stipulating and improving a series of management regulations on livestockand poultry husbandry pollutants disposal; elaborating the discharge standard oflivestock and poultry husbandry pollutants; working out concrete control measuresagainst the pollutants; further guaranteeing environmental pollution control;stipulating relative favorable supporting policies. Second, establishing severe supervision system on environmental protection; strengthening the public’sawareness with the help of relative government sections. Third, raising fund toimprove the security mechanism of the pollution control so that the damage can beminimized, the people’s living conditions be enhanced and the sustainabledevelopment of livestock and poultry husbandry be realized. Fourth, working outeffective plans on land management; controlling the expansion of husbandry;popularizing an ecological husbandry mode and cultivating organic agricultureamong all counties in Fuzhou; reducing pollutants produced in the process ofhusbandry production by adjusting nutrient contents in livestock and poultry’s fodder.Lastly, strengthening the ecological compensational mechanism and making everyeffort to speed up the construction of husbandry areas.
