With the construction and fast development of the Northern Shaan'xi Energy and Chemical industrial base, in the meanwhile, the amount of discharged waste water and residue is increasing year by year, which contribute much to the problem of the contradiction between the supply and need of water resources, as well as the problem of groundwater pollution. Therefore a study of the current situation of the groundwater pollution in the Northern Shaan'xi Energy and Chemical industrial base is meaningful, which in turn can provide sound basis for the protection and sustained development of groundwater in this region. By analyzing the change of the groundwater quality of this region, this thesis is going do a study focusing on the following points: (1) the current situation of the groundwater; (2) the pollution forecasting; (3) the feasibility of the anti-pollution performance. Firstly, by following the standards prescribed by the groundwater quality standard, the total hardness, nitrate, pH value, NH4+, Mn2+ are chosen as the monitoring items. And then the methods of comprehensive pollution index and DRASTIC mode evaluation are employed to evaluate the current groundwater quality and anti-pollution performance per region. There are many comprehensive pollution index methods. The often-used four evaluation methods are compared and finally the method of parameter scoring index methed is chosen. According to the calculation results of the comprehensive pollution index method and DRASTIC mode, the graph of the current situation of the groundwater pollution in Northern Shaan'xi natural resources and chemical industrial base, the graph of the anti-pollution performance per region in Northern Shaan'xi natural resources and chemical industrial base and the graph of the groundwater pollution forecasting in Northern Shaan'xi natural resources and chemical industrial base are compiled. The results show that, (1) the primary groundwater pollutants of Northern Shaan'xi natural resources and chemical industrial base are nitrate, nitrous acids, NH4+,Mn2+ and so on, which is probably due to the life pollution in recent years. While, it is still not clear that whether the industrial and mining enterprises contribute to the groundwater pollution. (2) Specially speaking, most regions in Northern Shaan'xi natural resources and chemical industrial base (about 80% of the target area) are either unpolluted or slightly polluted, of which, the unpolluted area is about 25-30% of the target region; the slightly polluted area 50-55%. The moderately-polluted and severely polluted occupy only 20% of the target area, of which the moderately-polluted area is roughly 15% of the target area; and the severely-polluted 5%.(3)according to the anti-pollution index DR, three regions are classified:(?) poor anti-pollution performance region(?); comparatively poor anti-pollution performance region(â…¡); Good anti-pollution performance region of the three regions, loess hilly region has the best anti-pollution performance, achieving rankâ…£. The regions with pretty poor anti-pollution performance (achieving rank ? to the worst) are, River Wuding and River Yuxi with low aquifer hydraulic conductivity; as well as the area of sand blown by wind whose groundwater level is lower than 1.5m in buried depth. (4) by comparing the graphs of current situation of groundwater pollution and anti-pollution performance of the ground water, it is found that: the performance of the anti-pollution and the degree of the groundwater pollution are perfectly correlated, that is to say, the region with poor anti-pollution performance are often severely polluted; and regions with good anti-pollution performance are always unpolluted or slightly-polluted.
