As the ancillary products, ink-jet paper are becoming more and more popular withthe development of ink-jet printing technology. As the core components, the ink-jetprinting paper coatings has been given considerable attention by the public. In this paper,the ink-jet coating with uniform pore and ordered structure was prepared by usingself-assembly technology. The coating with ordered structure has the potential aboutenergy saving enivera protecting in the area of digital ink-jet printing.In the paper, the monodisperse silica nanoparticles, nano ink-jet coating ofprecipitation and nano ink-jet coating of co-assembly. The factors that influence the sizeof nanoparticles such as the catalyst, the solvent, the speed of dropping, the temperature,the factors that affect the structure of co-assembly nano coating such as theconcentration of SiO2, the viscosity of SiO2/PVA mixture were found. In the process ofprepare the coating of precipitation, the influence of temperature and the concentrationof SiO2on the structure of ordered pigment coating, as well as the influence of theprecipitation time, the concentration of PVA on the property of the coating, werestudied.The performance of the two structure ordered nano coating, such as the porosity ofthe coating, the surface area and the imaging results, were researched by the surfaceenergy, surface tension and contact angle. The nano coating of precipitation was betterthan the coating of co-assembly in surface energy, contact angle and the degree ofdiffusion. The property of the precipitation nano coating is close to the product ofink-jet printing paper, as its surface tension being up to45.80mJ m-2, the contact anglebeing10.10°, and the degree of diffusion being1.14. In the pore structure, structureordered nano ink-jet coating surface area of the ink receiving layer andcommercialization Inkjet similar, but slightly smaller pore volume and pore sizesignificantly smaller than commercial inkjet paper. The structure ordered nano ink-jetcoating is more suitable for ink-saving printing, and has the potential about energysaving enivera protecting in the area of digital ink-jet printing.
