Iron and steel enterprises in21stcentury are more and more compact and efficient.Production process automation and digital control technology have underlain theimprovement of company efficiency, the reduction of energy consumption, and theimprovement of product quality. At present the commonly used oxygen-blowing control inconverter steelmaking is usually done manually; operation personnel have to adjust theoxygen flow by observing the flame in the converter. The technical proficiency of operators,and their personal experience will directly affect the quality of steel and smelting cycle. Thismode of operation has very demanding requirements for the skills and workload of operators,but the reaction in the furnace still cannot achieve optimal control. In particular, adust-removal process using LT dry dust-removal technology in the converter system will notfire if the oxygen pressure is too small, but excessive pressure will lead electrostaticprecipitator to dust explosion venting and damage the flue. This article on the background of asteel plant practical projects, the Steel Converter using sublance system, how to control theopening of oxygen blowing pressure and oxygen lance position is based on the accuratecontrol of sublance converter automatic control of the key issues.In response to these problems, this article on a steel works converter based on sublanceanalysis of problems in the control, design and implement a set of Automatic Control Systemfor Converter steelmaking. The research results in a converter control system with fine controlin the blowing stage and the sublance measuring phase which has effectively solved manyproblems such as the duct oxygen pressure fluctuation, oxygen pressure regulating valve and the oxygen flow regulator valve coupling, overshoot and hysteresis with PID regulation. Theoptimization and synchronization of the system network have accomplished the seamlessconnection with the secondary system of the converter, leading to the precise control of theamount of coolant, the position of oxygen lance and the amount of oxygen blowing.The specific research work includes the following areas:(1) On a steel converter for accurate control of the actual demand for the analysis of theoxygen pressure and oxygen lance position control architecture.(2) The oxygen pressure control system design and implementation. The oxygen pressurecontrol system effectively solves the open blowing stage oxygen pressure is too large toexplore, too small to cause converter does not catch fire. The whole process realizesautomatic control, greatly reducing the work intensity of operators.(3) Oxygen lance position control system design and implementation. Oxygen lanceposition control system mainly solves the problem that the original system has only oneencoder for detecting data is not accurate and the lance position control in the presence of thestop position of the problem of big error.(4) The system has been in a practical application, operation shows that the system iseffective and feasible.
