The petroleum pipeline system was the main form of oil transport, but it wasdifficulty for managers to understand and query the basic operation of the pipelinesystem, analysis of the processing pipeline accident conditions, and to put forward amore reasonable design and operation of the program with the improvement of pipelineequipment upgrade and routine maintenance, pipeline information management systemhad become increasingly complex. Designing and developing pipeline informationmanagement system had important practical significance to improve the level ofmanagement and operation of the pipeline. Petroleum pipelines facilities managementinformation system provided efficient data acquisition and processing tools andinformation management decision support system for pipeline planning, survey, design,construction and operational management. GIS and distributed computing technologywas adopted on the petroleum pipeline and station visual management, which improvedthe efficiency of oil and gas pipeline information management, and was conducive tothe proper decision makers in the petroleum pipeline maintenance, management, designand other aspects of decision-making.Petroleum pipelines and facilities management information system was the mainobject of this paper. Based on the research of theory态key technologies and requirementsanalysis, deep research was made in petroleum pipelines facilities managementinformation system functional design, data storage model and ArcEngine componentdevelopment. Main about: Function designing of the petroleum pipelines facilitiesmanagement information system, comprehensive design on petroleum pipelines andfacilities relevant data, functional requirements and the function of module structure ofinformation system. Characteristics and relationships of the data of the petroleumpipeline facilities was analyzed.UML was used to construct complete data storage logicmodel and according to the functionality provided by the modeling software,automatically generated the physical structure based on the database. ArcEngine wasused to implemented petroleum pipelines facilities management function prototype, andRemObject distributed middleware technology was used to achieve some of the major features of the site.In the first chapter of the paper the background, present situation and significance ofthe information management for petroleum pipeline facilities was introduced,meanwhile the research goal and the content of this article were also proposed.The second chapter introduced the related theory and key technology involved inthis paper, including the distributed network computing theory, APDM linear referencemodel and system, ArcEngine component development platform and developmenttechnology.The third chapter discussed the functional architecture and functional design of themanagement information system for petroleum pipelines facilities.The fourth chapter studied the data management model of petroleum pipelinefacilities, including the logical model of spatial data and non-spatial data, and theestablishment of physical structure.The fifth chapter focused on the key technologies to realize the system and the mainresults of the system, and analyses the technical characteristics of the prototype system.
