With the rapid development of the Aerospace technology, nanotechnology andmicro-electronics, the demand of such as V-groove, the micro-pyramid, sine surface andsome other microstructure components with special mechanical properties is increasingrapidly, accordingly, the requirement of precision machining technology greatlyimproved. Traditional processing methods have been unable to meet the needs ofprocessing technology of micro-structure. Therefore, micro-EDM technology, lasermachining, electrochemical machining, and the one-dimensional vibration cuttingprocessing techniques have been proposed. However, the application of thesetechnologies is restricted by the surface thermal deformation, low processing efficiency,high cost, so that the practical application is restricted.Therefore, elliptical vibration cutting method was proposed, the elliptical vibrationcutting method inherited the advantages of conventional vibration cutting, and as muchas possible to avoid the friction between flank and the machined surface, improve thesurface quality and tool life. Therefore, the elliptical vibration cutting has an importantsignificance to the development of precision manufacturing and processing industry.Elliptical vibration cutting technology is very developed and will soon be appliedto actual production overseas, but in our country, it is only in the research stage, and amass of work requires constant researched and practiced.This dissertation focuses on the elliptical vibration cutting arc groove and V-grooveprocessing, aiming at finding the discipline of various parameters on the arc groove andV-groove machining processing and surface quality of the elliptical vibration cuttingthrough simulation and experimental analysis.Firstly, the dissertation introduces the principle of elliptical vibration cutting,analyze the cutting mechanism and the theoretical error, design a vibration cuttingsystem used in the precision machining.Then, in the dissertation, based simulation software Third Wave-advantEdge,elliptical vibration cutting processing simulation is completed, we get the discipline ofthe effect of the cutting process parameters on cutting force, cutting and temperature.Finally, with the elliptical vibration cutting arc groove and V-groove as theresearch object, focuses on effect of the vibration frequency, amplitude as well ascutting speed on surface quality and burr suppression, we get the conclution throughexperimental research.The content of this dissertation show that compared to normal cutting, ellipticalvibration cutting has obvious advantages, and with the increases of the vibrationfrequency and vibration amplitude, the cutting force and cutting temperature reduce significantly; the surface quality improve significantly and burr has been suppressed tosome extent; within a certain range, the increase of cutting speed will make the cuttingforce and cutting temperature increase, and surface quality will be bad.
