Cooling-Mica fiber which can use its own special performance to keep fabricbreathable and cool is different from the traditional fiber. It is a new moisture wickingcool fiber developed by Shanghai Nantec Textile Co.Ltd.Commenced the basic performance of cooling-mica fiber and yarn, this papersystematically researched and analyzed morphology, composition, mechanicalproperties of cooling-mica fiber and mechanical properties, uniformity of fineness,twist, moisture content, hairiness, acid resistance and alkali resistance of cooling-micayarn, which is manufactured by Shanghai Nantec Textile Co.Ltd. The cooling-micayarn is pure spinning with the fineness of14.8tex.Based on the above research, seven products were designed and manufactured onthe STOLL CMS530HP computerized flat knitting machine. And the fabric density,thickness, grammage and shrinkage are tested, we know that cooling-mica yarn issuited to exploit knitted fabric, especially products underwear.To ensure follow-up dyeing goes on, hydrogen peroxide was chosen to bleachcooling-mica knitted fabric and whiteness, bursting strength and handle were as itsevaluation index. The influence of dosage of bleacher, temperature, time and pH valueon bleaching effect were analyzed with the single factor analytic method, thenoptimized the bleaching technology by orthogonal analytic method, and finally got theoptimal bleaching technology, that is hydrogen peroxide3g/L, sodium metasilicate3g/L, penetrant1g/L, with liquor ratio1∶20, pH value9,80℃,80min.In the dyeing experiments, disperse dye was used to dye cooling-mica fabricafter bleaching with one bath process. Dye-uptake and K/S value were assessmentcriteria, the influence of the dyeing temperature, pH value, the dosage of dyeingcarrier and the dyeing time on dyeing effects were analyzed with the single factoranalytic method, then optimized the dyeing technology with orthogonal analyticmethod, and finally got the optimal dyeing technology, that is disperse flavineSE-6GL0.5%(o.w.f),dyeing carrier2g/L, peregal O0.5g/L, with liquor ratio1∶30,pH value6,95℃,60min. The essay tested the heat retaining property, hydroscopicity, air permeability,water vapor permeability, bursting strength, drapability, pilling resistance, creasingproperty, rigid flexiblity and cool performance of the seven kinds of knitted fabrics.We concluded that cooling-mica fabric has good performance, especially coolperformance. When the fabric density and thickness is larger, the surface averagetemperature of cooling-mica fabric is lower1.46℃than cotton fabric. So it is suitedto develop underwear, such as summer underclothes.The fuzzy mathematics comprehensive judgement was used to evaluate thewearability of above seven cooling-mica knitted fabric, and finally we received thatcombination stitch owns the optimal wearability and is best fitted to develop knittedproducts.
