The uppermost imperfections of sheet metal forming are crack, winkle andspringback. Springback is generally described as a process of inner stress redistributionof sheet metal after unloading, which is considered to be one of the most complicatedproblems. It makes the shape and size of stamping parts inconsistent with the originaldesign thus influence parts quality.This thesis is devoted to the forming process and springback process ofair-conditioner’s backboard. Original reinforced method of backboard is reconstructed byusing the finite element model and Dynaform software. Meanwhile, influence ofanisotropy coefficient and thickness difference on springback are analyzed. Aiming atcertain sized backboard, influence of reinforced rib’s shape, position and size of differentrib width, fillet radius, angle, combination mode on springback are analyzed.The following points are brought out by analyzing the fore-and-aft change of stressgraph: Backboard design with more reinforced ribs along length direction at middleregion and uniform distribution. Adjusting the distance between reinforced rib andbackboard boundary leads to springback concentration on both sides along widthdirection. Moving reinforced rib along width direction has little influence on the Regionenclosed by diagonal reinforced rib and reinforced rib along length direction, whereinlies the minimum springback.Influence of diagonal reinforced rib’s angle, width, length on springback of modelwhich has the best springback result are studied. The best model was finally obtained andits stiffness has been enhanced seven times comparing with flat sheet. The designspecification of reinforced rib of air-conditioner’s backboard is eventually formulatedaccording to the requirements of springback and stiffness.Stamping and flanging tests were carried out to verify the springback result ofbackboard designed according to the design specification, which demonstrated greatconformity with numerical simulation result.
