Foreign modeling industry has hundreds years’ history, while China’s modelingindustry has developed just more than30years since the opening-up and shows awide gap to foreign countries. Comparing the comprehending of fashion conceptbetween domestic and foreign, there are some deviations existing. Some modernawareness is not completely erected, especially on the “model economy”. There area number of issues both in theory and in practice. With the introduction of foreigntop models events as well as China’s outstanding model, brand and event in theworld, exploration and research for the business model of “Model economy” arepractical significance for the development of the modeling industry.Focusing on the model economy, this paper analysis and research thedevelopment process and the impact to the socio-economic of the model economy,covering the aspects of the origin, formation cause, etc. European "model economy"business model has hundreds year history. Its development is relatively stable,benign and mature, and results are rich. There is a wide gap between Europeancountries and our country in this business model. As foreign “model economy”started earlier and operated maturely, we should learn from them and step forewardon the commercialized road of “model economy”. The paper emphasis on theimportance of the experience abroad.This paper compared the domestic and international "model economy"difference and analysis the problems caused by the fact that the China’s modeleconomy developed too fast in a short time by questionnaire survey method, fieldinspection method, and statistical method and retrieving documents method.China’s "model economy" in short30years developed to fast, which create lotsof problems. For instance, the evaluation for models is not objective; models’ socialstatus of are low; lack of legal regulations; models’ labor interests cannot beguaranteed; too much competitions which are lack of fairness and standards; themanagement of model market is chaotic; model agent standardized operation led to the poor of the industry as a whole atmosphere, etc. The reasons might be asfollowed: the imperfect management system led to the freelance models and thefreelance agents disrupt the market normal operation; the models’ low qualityforming a vicious competition; model agents are not professional enough and haveno strong sense of law; the mode which one can be the director and agent in the sametime restricted the development of the whole industry.This paper based on the analysis and discussion of those issues put forward thefollowing suggestions:1) Establish and improve the communication channels amongmanagement agencies, customers and employees.2) Strengthen the comprehensivequality of training and education of practitioners.3) Management sector ofgovernment and the industry should be fully aware of the importance of making ascientific industrial management system.4) The media should report and publicitypositively.5) Set up a special organization inside the industry, such as industrymanagement committee and the modeling industry association.6) DesignersAssociation and Models Association should cooperate interactively, thus the modelindustry can better benefit the enterprises and market.The conclusion of this paper is that to maintaining stable, rapid and healthydevelopment, China’s “model economy” must be supported by the government, themedia, the business, the industry management and the outstanding models brokers,combined with our own reality and the experience from foreign countries.
