Research On Sustainable Development Based On The Ecological Footprint Method In Taoyuan County

In the specific area, the method of the ecological footprint can determine the degree of human using the natural resources in a period. It is to balance the degree of coordination between the regional ecological environment and economic and social development through determining the regional ecological supply and economic demand and contracting to get the balance between supply and demand of regional ecology and regional economy.In this paper, it provides basis on the purpose that Taoyuan carries out tactics of sustainable development. In this paper, through looking up literature, it is applying the method of top-bottom to research and calculate ecological footprint and relative indicators from2001to2010and evaluates quantitatively the condition of the sustainable development in the region. And it is also applying regression models to forecast the changeable trend of ecological footprint of Taoyuan County from2012to2016and explores the model and tactics of sustainable development of Taoyuan. The main findings are as follows:(1) From2001to2010, the ecological footprint per person has an upward trend in Taoyuan County. It is from2.072829386hm2in2001to3.397792645hm2in2010.The increasing range is63.92%.(2) From2001to2010, the ecological capacity per person shows a fluctuation change, but it has a downward trend on the whole in Taoyuan County. It is from0.854950424hm2in2001to0.832975109hm2in2010. The declining range is2.57%.(3) The supply and demand of ecological footprint is not balance in Taoyuan County. Over the past decade, it is the condition of ecological deficit. The ecological deficit per person is1.217878962hm2in2001, while it is2.564817536hm2in2010. The increasing range is110.60%.(4) By the regression model to predict, the ecological footprint and ecological deficit will continue to increase from2012to2016in Taoyuan County. The ecological footprint per person will achieve5.4938hm2in2016in Taoyuan County, the ecological capacity per person which can be took advantage will be close to0.6403hm2in2016, and ecological deficit per person will achieve4.8535hm2in2016.
