For the whole world, the sea area is70%, its Marine resources are very rich, and it is an important part of global life system. With the progress of society and the needs of human survival and development increasing, the contradiction between the world’s population and resources, environment is becoming more and more fierce. The development and progress of human society is increasingly relying on the sea. Cause that ocean and People’s Daily life, economic construction and social development is closely bound up.As an effective method to understand and study the sea, the ocean scene simulation is widely applied in the field practice of the marine. Firstly, it provides a way to process, interpret and analysis the Marine data efficiently. Secondly, it enriches the means to exchange the Marine information, the communication between people is no longer limited to the words and language, but you can directly use the visual information such as graphics, images, animation, to reveal the essence of data and its nature. This article uses the world’s most popular3d engine OSG, with its open, flexible, strong development advantages, to simulate the sea and major natural phenomenon, not only providing the help for us to know the ocean, but also serving as the base framework for development of Marine information software and the navigation simulator. The paper is mainly the following aspects:(1)Introducing the applications and development of the Marine scene simulation;(2)Discussinging the architecture and principle of OSG(OpenSceneGraph), building the platform of OSG in VS2010and describing the framework of Platform.(3)This paper studies the wave modeling method, fast Fourier transform combining with the JONSWAP wave spectrum modeling method to simulate the ocean scene is the core, through the results showed this method makes the modeling method more rapid, convenient, effective and the wave simulation more realistic. In order to increase the fidelity of the ocean scene, rain and snow scene is simulated using of particle system and large area of fog scene is added using of OSG function.(4)Putting all together and show the results of simulation, finally the paper is summarized.
