Copper resources is one of the most important raw material resources in nationaleconomic development,so carring out the strategy of "going out"is the inevitablechoice of the sustainable development of our country. This paper is mainly focusedon the important copper belt in the world-North America Cordillerametallogenic province of porphyry copper deposits. This paper studied the evolution of the regional geology and tectonicmetallogenic provinces of the North American Cordillera. North America Cordilleraprovince is formed in collision of the Pacific plate and the American plate, forming aset of andesitic rocks of porphyry copper deposits. I divided the metallogenicprovince into Northern and Southern Cordillera porphyry metallogenicbelt.Northern Cordillera porphyry copper mineralization formed in island arcsenvironment;Mineralization are alkaline rocks and calc-alkaline; Porphyry copperdeposits are copper-molybdenum and Porphyry copper deposit-gold deposit.WhileSouthern Cordillera porphyry copper metallogenic belt formed in continental marginenvironment;Mineralization is mainly calc-alkaline, Porphyry copper deposits aremainly copper-molybdenum deposits.By collecting and analyzing geochemical data, Northern Cordillera magmaticrocks of porphyry copper formed by oceanic crust remelting, while SouthernCordillera formed by continental crust remelting. This paper summarizes the spatial and temporal distribution of mineralizationboth metallogenic belt. Northern Cordillera porphyry copper concentrated insouthwestern Canada, mineralization is mainly Triassic time-Cretaceous depositsdistributed in the outer edge of the accreted craton; Southern Cordillera porphyrycopper concentrated in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, mineralization is mainly Laramide period, deposits distributed within the craton.
