With the continuous development of socio-economic and cultural, the research about urban activities gradually gained in importance the majority of scholars. Person-based accessibility as an important approach to assess urban activities has a significant impact in researching residents’ daily activities and improving urban infrastructure planning, and gradually gained the attention of many scholars that engaged in the urban planning transportation geography and the area and spatial study. With the in-depth study and application, person-based accessibility theory has also been developed.Traditional person-based accessibility uses the perspective of spatial position to evaluate the urban activities, including the distance, the cumulative opportunity, the gravity model, etc. However these methods are often neglected the time factor in urban activities. Time geography is an effective theoretical framework for the analysis of human behavior, and it is not only emphasizes the spatial constraints on urban activities, but also provides a theoretical perspective to explore the complex mutual influence between time and space. On the basis of time geography, person-based space-time accessibility approach is proposed. The person-based space-time accessibility focuses on the people in the time-space environment and is used to assess the spatial and temporal distribution of activities from the personal perspective, and measure the freedom of that people carry out various activities under the conditions of space and time by evaluating the reachable spatial temporal area in specific time-space constraint and the availability of the spatial detached resource between activities. This article is from the city environment and the view of urban service facilities, used person-based accessibility method to build a dynamic interactive model of person-based accessibility in space and time in order to expfore the space-time expression of activities and assess accessibility. The main research contents and achievements are as follows:(1) Research the space-time accessibility expression approach of interactive group activities, and apply the concepts of space-time path、space-time prism and potential path space in the scene of many people participated in the same activity on the basic of time geography to bring the concept of group interaction space-time path、group interaction space-time prism and potential interaction area, expanding the theoretical framework of time geography.(2) Use the potential path tree method to measure the reachable region of personal and group activities based on urban transport networks and urban services.(3) Propose the evaluation function of dynamic interactive model based on the utility concept. The model evaluation function takes into account service facilities’ business hours、minimum activity time and individual preference to complete the space-time accessibility dynamic assessment of the single activity and group interaction activity.(4) Develop the model prototype system, and take Beijing city as study area to analysis the model cases. There are three types of POIs (as parks, shopping centers and restaurants) and three travel modes (as bus, taxi/car and bicycle) for users to choice in this model program. In this article, we show the applicability of this model for the complex type resident activity evaluation of multi-user’s multi-travel-pattern through different scenarios. In this paper, we apply space-time accessibility to the analysis of urban activity, model the accessibility assessment of various residents activities by considering the resident activities’ characteristics and environmental constraints; use the prototype system to achieve the application of the model in real life. This study provides an effective solution to many applications, such as space-time accessibility analysis of single and multiple activity, mobile social-network, personal intelligent travel and so on.
