Tumor, especially malignant tumor, is a kind of serious and complexity disease which damages to human health. As one of the most core issue of oncology research, the cancer stem cell theory has been attracting the attention of cancer medicine and biology. And a general population model of tumor cells, based on the theory of cancer stem cells, is a hot spot in the research of the mathematics. But in recent years, it has been found that the traditional tumor stem cell theory can’t explain well some of the heterogeneity phenomenon occurred in the experiment. Then, the concept of the tumor cell plasticity is put forward. According to the experimental results of other researchers, cell plastic mechanism is added to traditional cancer stem cell theory, and the two-way model of tumor cell groups is tried to build. The paper compares the two-way model with traditional cancer stem cell model about the stability and transient dynamics behavior. Two-way model can better explain phenotypic equilibrium and adaptation appeared in the experiment. Based on the influence of tumor cell plastic mechanism, the results show that multi-target therapy is more superiority than single-target therapy.
