| Nowadays, urban construction in China is being conducted vibrantly, sometimes even out of order. The drainage ecolo gical syste m is suffering fro munprecedentedly severe damage as a consequence of blindness and disorder ofthe urban expans ion. Erroneous planning methods, such as recklessly cuttingnecessary bend, willful land fill, randomly transferring rivers into blind ditches, etc.have already ruined the urban water system. These, in turn, have broughtabout a series of proble ms concerning water system in the cities, such asshortages of water resources, deterioration of hydrographic environment, frequent breakout of floods or famine, thereby posting a potential and probablethreat to both our lives and our safety. Therefore, further research on how toreverse the trend by properly addressing the problems concerning the watersystem is now of substantial s ignificance. For the past several decades, researches about geographic informationsystem, abbreviated to GIS, have made remarkable progress. Based onGeospatia l database, GIS, with its s ignificant geospatial ana lysis and greateffic iency on database mana gement, is widely applied to various doma ins andsectors. In this essay which is targeted at a specia l genre of city--hilly c ities,we started by studying in detail the ecological characteristics of hilly c ities, the evolution of water system a nd the features of water systems in hilly c ities, for the purpose of la ying solid foundation for later ana lys is. On top of that, wetake into account of the GIS techno logy and analyzed the structure of the watersystems in hilly cities inc luding water safety, water resources, waterenvironment, water landscape, water culture, etc. We believe that takingcorrespondent controlling measures towards different water system planning isof cardina l significance to the improve ment of the benign c irculatio n ofdrainage ecologica l system in hilly c ities and the conservatio n of theecological safety structure in hilly cities. In this essay, we apply to the practical cases of water system planning inAnren County the water system pla nning research based on the GIS techno logy.Combining with the practica l situatio n of Anren County, we devised a series of water system planning controlling strategy, part of the advises and measuresput into practice and had positive effects, which verified the scientific natureand feasib ility of using GIS in water system planning, a sustainab le means ofurban water system planning, and providing a reference for other hilly cities inthe practice of water system p lanning. |
